Dermaroller

The Dermaroller is a device that is designed to pass over your skin 15 to 20 times in horizontal, vertical and oblique directions. This technique can be effective, and used mostly over large surface areas. It is limited when targeting small or curved areas (e.g. under the nose) and you risk bending needles when penetrating scarred skin.

Dermaroller™ can significantly improve the appearance of:

  • texture and quality of skin
  • cutaneous penetration of topical cosmeceuticals
  • fine facial lines and wrinkles
  • decolletage lines
  • stretch marks
  • aged and sun damaged skin
  • rejuvenation of hands
  • hyperpigmentation

Process

A minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure in which the surgical device contains multiple fine needles which puncture the skin to a uniform depth within the dermis creating a controlled skin injury.

The dermal punctures trigger the wound healing process stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

Downtime: You may experience temporary redness and swelling in the area that was treated, this will go down after a few hours, or maximally a few days. The downtime of dermaroller may be slightly longer.

Recommended number of treatments: 6-12 treatments with at least 6 weeks interval between procedures.

Dermapen

As there is minimal damage to the epidermis, there is minimal pain and bleeding. The vertical delivery method ensures that needles won’t bend in thickened tissue. With the dermapen, we can navigate small and contoured areas easily, including nose, lip, eye or even mouth.

There is a reduced risk of hyperpigmentation unlike in dermaroller and limited downtime.
